This chapter explains how cr8rs fees work for Creators across all monetization features, what those fees cover, and the applicable limits and taxes. Contributors are not charged any platform fee; all service fees are deducted from the Creator's side.
2. Taxes and Invoicing for Creators
cr8rs's service fees include VAT, which cr8rs handles and remits to the government as required. Creators should note:
- The Platform Fee deducted is calculated on the gross tip amount and includes VAT on cr8rs's commission. Creators can request a VAT breakdown or invoice of fees by contacting support - this can help distinguish between the fee (a business expense) and their net tip income.
- Income Tax: Creators are responsible for declaring and paying income tax on the net tips they receive. cr8rs does not automatically deduct income tax from payouts. cr8rs strongly advises Creators to comply with local tax laws and keep track of their earnings. Annual earnings statements are available on request.
- Optional Tax Assistance Service: cr8rs offers a separate optional tax assistance service to Creators who want help with tax deductions and filings. Contact info@cr8rs.app for details. Terms for this service are provided in a separate agreement or addendum.
3. Appreciation Tip Limits
To comply with regulatory requirements and ensure security, cr8rs imposes the following limits:
- Domestic Tips: Minimum NPR 10, maximum NPR 25,000 per transaction.
- International Tips (Visa/Mastercard): Minimum NPR 100, maximum NPR 35,000 per transaction (or equivalent in foreign currency at the time of conversion). Contributors may also be subject to their card issuer's daily international spending limits.
- Creator-Defined Limits: Creators may set custom minimum or maximum tip amounts for their own profiles, within the platform-wide caps above.
These limits are subject to change in line with Nepal Rastra Bank regulations and cr8rs's risk management policies. Please refer to the Tip Limit Policy page on cr8rs.app for the most current figures.
4. Currency and Conversion
All cr8rs monetization transactions are conducted in Nepalese Rupees (NPR). For international card tips, the charge is made in NPR; the Contributor's card network converts the NPR amount from the Contributor's local currency. The Contributor may see a difference on their statement due to exchange rates. cr8rs has no control over the exchange rate applied. Creators always see amounts in NPR on their dashboard.
5. Payout Methods, Verification, and Fees
Nepal-Only Payouts: Regardless of where a Creator resides, all cr8rs payouts are made exclusively to verified Nepalese bank accounts or Khalti digital wallets. Creators living abroad (including Nepali expats) must link a Nepal-registered account to receive withdrawals. cr8rs does not process payouts to foreign bank accounts or international payment wallets at this time.
5.1. Identity Verification (KYC) - Powered by ThirdFactor
As part of cr8rs's internal due diligence process, Creators are required to complete a simple identuty screening check before withdrawals are enabled. cr8rs partners with ThirdFactor, a certified KYC and liveness detection service, to conduct this verification. KYC Verification might or might not be available to all creators on the platform at this point of time.
- Liveness Check: ThirdFactor performs a liveness detection to confirm that the person submitting identity documents is physically present and not using a static image or video replay. This prevents impersonation and protects the Creator community.
- Documents Required: A valid government-issued ID (e.g., citizenship card, passport, NID, Driving License) and a live selfie are submitted through the ThirdFactor interface embedded in the cr8rs dashboard.
- Data Handling: Identity data submitted for KYC is processed by ThirdFactor in accordance with their privacy and data security standards. cr8rs receives a verification outcome (pass/fail) and stores the result. Detailed biometric data is handled by ThirdFactor. For details, refer to ThirdFactor's privacy policy.
- One-Time Process: KYC verification is completed once per account. Re-verification may be requested by cr8rs if identity documents expire or if there are compliance concerns.
5.2. Khalti by IME Digital Wallet Payout
- Eligibility: The Creator's Khalti account must be verified under the Creator's legal name. The name and phone number on the cr8rs profile must match those on the Khalti wallet.
- Verification Process: To link a Khalti account, the Creator must initiate a test transaction of NPR 10 from their Khalti wallet to cr8rs. This confirms the Khalti account belongs to the person named on the cr8rs profile. This NPR 10 is fully refundable upon successful verification or if the verification is rejected.
- Payout Limit: Khalti supports a maximum single payout of NPR 25,000.
- Fees: cr8rs does not charge a withdrawal fee for Khalti payouts.
- Processing Time: Typically within 3 business days.
- Payout Fails: A payout on Khalti might be failed if the creator has an active receiving limit, has crossed the end of day amount on their Khalti account or where Khalti system rejects the transaction as we perform it for payouts. Creators will be notified of failed payouts.
5.3. Bank Transfer Payout
- Eligibility: The Creator must provide their bank account name, account number, and bank details. The account must be in the Creator's own legal name (or Guardian's name for minor Creator accounts).
- Verification Process: Bank account verification is completed at the time of the Creator's first bank withdrawal. The Creator submits their bank details via the dashboard, and cr8rs verifies by initiating the first withdrawal. Once successfully received, the bank account is marked verified and available for future withdrawals.
- Payout Limit: Maximum single payout of NPR 50,000.
- Fees: cr8rs does not charge a withdrawal fee. However, your bank may charge a minimal credit or processing fee on their end. This fee, if any, will appear as a separate transaction in your bank statement after the funds are credited - it is not deducted by cr8rs.
- Processing Time: Typically within 5 business days.
- Payout Fails: A payout on a Bank Account might be failed if the creator has an active receiving limit or where our payout processor system rejects the transaction as we perform it for payouts. Creators will be notified of failed payouts.
Remittance / cash pickup payouts are not currently offered by cr8rs. If cr8rs introduces new payout methods in the future, creators will be notified in advance.
5.4. Payout Account Security
- Only payout accounts that belong to the account holder (or Guardian, for minor Creator accounts) are permitted.
- The name on the cr8rs profile must match the name on the payout account. Mismatches will be rejected and investigated.
- Any request to change a verified payout account requires administrative re-verification.
6. Account Dormancy
cr8rs does not charge any fees for dormant or inactive Creator accounts. Once you register a cr8rs account, you may return to the platform at any time without incurring account maintenance, dormancy or reactivation charges. Your account and any available balance remain accessible to you regardless of how long you have been away.
7. Transaction Records and Account Closure
cr8rs retains transaction records and associated account data for a minimum of 5 years following account closure or the last transaction, in alignment with Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) record-keeping guidelines applicable to platforms of this nature. This ensures that historical earning records are available for tax or legal purposes even after an account is closed.
- If you close your account, cr8rs will retain transaction records for this period but will delete or anonymize personal profile data that is no longer required.
- Any remaining balance at the time of account closure must be withdrawn prior to closing. cr8rs will prompt you to withdraw before confirming closure. Balances that are abandoned after reasonable notice may be handled as per applicable unclaimed property practices.
8. Payment Reconciliation and Delayed Alerts
cr8rs processes tips and other monetization transactions based on confirmed payment success responses from our payment gateway partners. A transaction is never credited to a Creator's balance or used to trigger an alert notification until cr8rs has received a confirmed success response from the gateway.
- Delayed Success Responses: In some cases, a payment may be processed on the Contributor's side but the success confirmation from the gateway to cr8rs may be delayed - due to network interruptions, gateway processing queues or other technical factors. cr8rs has observed delays of up to 6 days in rare circumstances. During this period, the Contributor may have been charged but the alert will not yet have been triggered.
- Reconciliation Process: cr8rs operates automated reconciliation checks to detect pending payments that have not yet received a success confirmation. For payments that remain unresolved beyond 48 hours, cr8rs handles these manually to ensure resolution. Once a success response is confirmed (however delayed), the tip is credited and the alert is processed.
- Creator Retrigger Option: If a tip was successfully processed but the alert notification was missed or delayed (for example, because the Creator was offline at the time of delayed confirmation), the Creator can retrigger the missed alert directly from the Live Action Widget on their cr8rs dashboard. This gives Creators control over their notification experience without needing to contact support.
- Contributor Notification: If a Contributor's payment is delayed beyond the expected processing time, they may experience a delay in seeing their support acknowledged via an alert. This does not mean their payment failed. Contributors can verify the status of their transaction by checking their payment history or contacting support@cr8rs.app.
A delayed alert is not grounds for an automatic refund. If a tip has been confirmed as successfully processed, it has been received by cr8rs. The Creator retrigger option is provided to resolve alert delivery issues. For genuine payment failures where funds were debited but no success was confirmed by the gateway, cr8rs investigates and refunds where appropriate.
9. Changes to Fees
cr8rs may update the fee percentage or structure to adapt to market conditions or regulatory changes. Any change in the fee structure will be communicated to Creators at least 30 days in advance via email and an announcement on cr8rs.app. New fees will apply only to Appreciation Tips received after the effective date of the change. Historical tips will not be affected retroactively. Creators who do not agree with a fee change may stop using the Service before the new fees take effect and withdraw any existing balance under the old terms.
